Ranchlands' founder Duke Phillips is a third generation cattle rancher who believes in economic diversification, high conservation ethics, and public education as critical to the future of ranching.

I’ve been making a saddle for Julie, and following that one, I’ll make another one for Grace.  A friend, Duncan, who runs a leather shop in Buena Vista, and is long time saddle maker, has spent the last two days with Jonathan and me in the workshop.  My hands are tired after over 12 hours working today.  Photos to come.  Its a life-time desire, making a saddle is the pinnacle in leather craft for me.  Duncan has been a life saver, I can’t imagine figuring all that off of a video.  Tomorrow he leaves. Just me and Jonathan, then.  We’ll have fun one like always.
