Steve Earle and the Dukes

With less than 3 weeks until the Steve Earle & The Dukes concert at Chico Basin, we are busy tidying up the venue. The first of this year’s Ranchlands Concerts will take place in the stunning Bell Park on the north part of Chico Basin Ranch in a grassy meadow surrounded by cottonwood trees with perfect views of Pikes Peak. The concert is a benefit for our education program and will include a bonfire, food by Western Daughters, American Grind

An Afternoon Concert with James McMurtry

We had a great turnout and great weather at yesterday’s show with James McMurtry.

Thanks to everyone who came out and made it a great afternoon and for supporting the Shriver/Wright Memorial Project! The silent auction had some sought-after items including two custom-made bamboo fly rods and a day of fishing, and with the great attendance and bison burger lunches we were able to raise some money for the memorial project.

A Good Night

Last weekend Matthias and Paula from Germany and the Reiss family from New York spent a lot of time in the high prairie with us moving cattle. They were all great guests and Matthias and I got to talking about the wonders of whiskey. He is a connoisseur and thinking of starting up his own distillery in Germany.

The First Ranchlands Music Series

Two weeks ago the Chico opened up the beautiful Bell Park with its first ever concert and camping and with the concert being a hit, they’ve decided to open up the park for all types of events and more concerts.
